The Bigfoot is designed from a new vision on living: open up and come together. The piece of furniture redefines the definition of a chair and the way people sit on it. The Bigfoot is a small chair and has one ‘big foot’ which can be use as a second seat. The open structure is honest; what you see is what you get and what you don’t need isn’t there. The ‘chair’ is completely covered with felt for a soft and emotional touch.

STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART
I designed the product straight from the heart: one of my most intuitive projects ever. The project developed in a completely natural flow without doing any consessions. The result is an emotional and soft object which connects people, redefines the interaction of sitting and the 'chair' as a whole. It literally brings people together on different levels. Special thanks goes out to Atelier Textielcreaties for felting the product.
The media circus started in 2008. After designing the piece, Design Academy Eindhoven displayed it at their 'Still' exhibition at the 2008 Salone del Mobile in Milan. What happened afterwards was pure madness. The product was exposed all over Europe (Brussels, Milan and Paris) and published in both national and international magazines like L’evenment, Eigen Huis & Interieur, Elle Wonen, Identity Matters and eventually features on the cover of Artsthread Magazine. One of the absolute highlights was the selection of Bigfoot as worldwide campaign icon for Nuffic's 'Study In Holland' campaign and the appearance on Dutch national television. When you thought things couldn't get any better, Bigfoot was selected by Lidewij Edelkoort for an auction at Pierre Berge in Brussels and was sold at the same Auction house. What a ride.
